Key shoe trend for 2009

Key shoe trend for 2009

Just a week into the New Year and with sales still booming it's a perfect time to hit the high street, and get your hands on some of the hottest new shoes for 2009. With our finger always firmly on the pulse of everything fashionable, here at FemaleFirst we have the top three shoe trends to look out for this year.

First to get our nod of approval is the colour purple. By far this has to be the must-have colour of 2009, and we predict that shoes are the best way to introduce a hit of this fashionable colour. Everyone from Prada to Karen Millen were showing jewel tones on the catwalk this A/W, and purple was very popular.

These shoes have been previewed before on FemaleFirst, but we really do love them. They highlight this trend beautifully, and worn with opaque tights and the essential little black dress will look fantastic. They are available to buy from ASOS.com for a steal of just £19.

Next for shoes in 2009 is fringing. This intricate detailing can be a little country and western for some people but if it's good enough for Mischa Barton, anyone can pull it off. Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier were championing this trend in A/W and we predict it is really going to take off come Spring.

Be in style this year with these fringe lace-up boots from Topshop for £75. They can be worn casually with jeans or a dress for a more feminine look. They are also this seasons must-have length for boots, it is all about the ankle so show them off.

Finally, we have biker boots. These we were quite popular last year with the likes of Agyness Deyn and Daisy Lowe being spotted in biker boots, but the trend never really hit the high street.

We predict that everyone is going to be stepping out in these must-have and edgy boots. They add a touch of rock chick glamour and masculinity to any outfit, and look particularly good with a really feminine dress. These boots are available to buy from New Look for £30, and they are great example of what is already on the high street to buy.

With just one pair of these shoes in your closet will ensure your feet are always fashion forward.
