According to the tabloids, ladies in Japan who are searching for somewhere to place their melons whilst out shopping could have the answer to their prayers soon - their bra.

In a campaign to stop shoppers from going through too many plastic bags - a lingerie producer has launched a bra with cup padding that transforms into a handheld shopping bag when unwrapped.

It's apparently not the first time Triumph International Japan Ltd - creators of the eco bra have attempted to try and attract "socially responsible" customers.

In 2005 it advertised a bra which can be heated in the microwave to reduce heating costs indoors.

The 'Bra Rangers' entitled after TV characters who change into superheroes - can be purchase with matching underwear which has the message: 'No more plastic bags!'

What's more, the "bra-turned-bag" is created out of recycled polyester fibre with straps that can be attached onto the carrier as ribbons.

Japanese stores give away around 30 billion plastic bags a year, but about a third are disposed of without being used again.

A spokesperson for Triumph is quoted as saying in the Sun newspaper:"In this context, what deserves the most attention is the significance of each and every customer understanding the importance of not using plastic bags."

The business has searched for a patent for the "eco-bra." However, there are no definite plans to place it on sale globally just yet!
