Kimonos have proven that they’re the must-have fashion piece this summer dominating high street stores; in fact New Look has confirmed that it’s been selling 40,000 kimonos a week.
The light and loose-fitting jackets have been flying off the shelves and whether you’re heading on holiday, hitting a festival or staying on British shores the kimono is definitely a must-have.
Francesca Muston, head of retail and product analysis at the trends agency WGSN told The Guardian: 'Kimonos are very versatile, working as a spring jacket, a lightweight cover up, or, with a belt, as a dress.
'It doesn't matter what size or shape you are, you can wear it. Every now and then an item comes along that makes sense for quite a lot of people and everybody buys it.'
