A university in the US is offering a course on Beyonce Knowles.
Students with an interest in the 'Single Ladies' hitmaker will be able to study for a diploma at Rutgers University in New Jersey by doing a course called 'Politicizing Beyonce'.
It will enable fans of the brunette beauty - who has a three-week-old daughter, Blue Ivy, with rapper husband Jay-Z - to explore her alter-ego Sasha Fierce and discuss whether her persona conforms with western gender stereotypes, or if it is a means of female sexual empowerment.
PH.D. candidate Kevin Allred - who is in charge of the course - said: ''This isn't a course about Beyonce's political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama's inauguration weekend.
''She certainly pushes boundaries. While other artists are simply releasing music, she's creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona.''
