Drew Barrymore Shoots Woodley For First Magazine Cover

10 February 2012

Drew Barrymore has made her debut as a fashion photographer with a photoshoot starring the Descendants' Shailene Woodley.

The 50 First Dates star was asked to shoot a style spread for Vs. magazine and jumped at the chance to show off her camera skills after taking photography up as a hobby years ago.

She tells U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "I've actually been doing it for like 12 years. In 2000 I got given a camera for my birthday actually, a Pentax K1000.

"It's like a student cam - you have to do everythingmanually. I just fell in love with it and I started shooting for 10 years, but it's all candids and amateur. "Recently I've been lucky enough to get work as a photographer.

"When I first started shooting, I felt really sick because I've never had to turnmy photographs over to an editor.

"I just thought, 'God, what if I suck or what if they're not good enough or what if they're disappointed?' "And in typical fashion, I just sort of think, like, you know what?

"If you can't do something, figure it out. Learn it. And I just made myself super sick, I did a lot of homework and I figured it out".

The actress picked 20-year-old Woodley to pose for the first of a three-part editorial for Vs. entitled Drew's Muses, as it focuses on the young Hollywood talents who inspire her.

Barrymore's shot of a topless Woodley gazing over her shoulder graces the latest issue of the publication.
