Jake Gyllenhaal Likes Telling Stories

Jake Gyllenhaal admits that he likes the telling stories aspect of his profession.

The actor has become one of the most popular and in demand Hollywood stars in recent years as he has moved from hard hitting drama such as Brokeback Mountain to blockbuster Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Speaking to OK! magazine the actor said: "I'm in the business of playing characters. That's what I'm in," he explained. "That's what I want to try and do.

"The ability to tell stories that you care about, it does give you a great opportunity to do that."

"I didn't grow up in a Hollywood way. I grew up in a family of people who made movies - and continue to do so to this day."

Gyllenhaal has already enjoyed success this year with his last movie Source Code and he has a couple of projects in the pipeline.

He has completed work on Nailed, which is directed by David O'Russell and also stars Jessica Biel and James Marsden.

The actor is currently filming End of Watch alongside Anna Kendrick and Michael Pena.
