Steven Spielberg's War Horse and the Artist's canine star Uggie were among the winners at Hollywood's top animal awards on Thursday (09Feb12).
The Jack Russell was named Best Scene Stealer for his role in the Oscar-nominated silent film at the 2012 Pawscar Awards, while War Horse won the Best Perception vs.
Reality trophy for keeping animals safe on set.
The judges had particular praise for a scene in the film during which ahorse becomes entangled in barbed wire, which was actually made from soft rubber to ensure the animal wasn't harmed.
Other films to be honoured with awards include Mr Popper's Penguins, Dolphin Tale, We Bought A Zoo, Jack And Jill and Beginners.
