UK Launches mobile ATM network

Cashpoint leaders LINK have got together with IT company MORSE to offer a mobile banking service across the UK.
The service, called Mobile ATM will launch in the UK in September. It will be available to any Javan enabled phone on any network.
The service will allow users to check their bank account balance, authenticate instant payments and top up their talk time.
The facility was designed to replicate a cashpoint screen and it's expected that it will be possible to carry out complex transactins, such as switch money between accounts in the near future.
The group said it is currently in talks with HSBC, the Royal Bank of Scotland, FirstDirect, The Co-operative bank, Nationwide, and the Bank of Ireland.
