The cost of fuel has been on UK motorists minds' for a while, now, and the protests look set to start again, as UK fuel prices look set to hit £1 per litre, very soon!
The price of crude oil - the Raw matterial used to make petrol - has gone up to $62 a barrel, compared with an all time high of $40 a barrel, last year. The death of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd added an extra $1.43 a barrel overnight.
Both the main motoring organisations warned that motorists will have to pay more. Remote, independant garages are already charging over £1 per litre. The highest seen, so far, is at an independant garage in Guilford, where a litre of Unleaded will set you back 102.3p.
"Prices have risen 10p a litre since January, because of the rising cost of crude oil, which has gone up from about $58 to $60 a barrel," said the trust's petrol price analyst Ruth Bridger. "We don't expect average UK prices to exceed £1 a litre for a long time."
"But we received information yesterday showing that at least 46 garages are already charging over £1 a litre."
