The weeks events in Formula 1, Rallying and World Superbikes

Formula one
The Turkey Grand prix is less than a week away, and the teams are gearing up to race on a brand new circuit.
Just to the east of Istanbul the Circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke - F1's favoured architect. 3.34 miles around, it looks set to share the character of the Malaysia, Bahrain and China tracks, with an interesting twist in the form of a kink in the main straight - which could have an impact on passing opportunitites.

Meanwhile, the fight over Jenson Button is still hotting up. Since last year, BAR prevented the 25 year old from moving to Williams. He then signed a pre season contract with the team, meaning that he would move to to Renault team next season, but the Driver changed his mind, realising that BAR has a better shot at the Championship. Nick Fry, head of BAR says that the dispute could give the 25 year old an edge; "The really impressive thing about him is that despite all this going on, his focus is unbelievable. That's what it takes to be a champion,"

As well as Button, it looks as though BAR will hace Barichello, next season, as the Driver, who has just quit Ferrari, say he is headed for the Honda team.

BAR, of course are hopeful for next season as Honda look to complete the takeover of the team, as British American Tobacco are forced out of the sponsorship.

Following the mix up over Michellin tyres at the Indianapolis Grand Prix in June, Spectators are finally being invited to apply for a refund of the ticket price.
Indianapolis motor Speedway are administering the refund on behalf of Michelin.
The Speedway is still considering wether or not they'll stage a race, next year.

Amidst all this noise and haste, Fernando Alonso has been using some unusual methods to train for the Turkey Grand prix.
The Driver has testing his skills on the track using a Playstation game.
Alonso said: "I did the same thing before China last year and it worked well.
"The problem is you cut the chicanes and overtake on the grass, which doesn't quite correspond to reality!"

The Renault team are lookingto make changes for next season, when they switch to Cosworth engines, bringing the partnership with German Auto Giant BMW to an end. Team owner Frank Williams said he was confident of having a "class-leading package" because Cosworth was a "leading authority" on V8 engines.

Turkey Grand Prix takes place 21 Aug.

Rallying
Meanwhile, in a rather dirtier sport, Former world champ, Colin McRae looks set to make a comeback, this September.
The 37 year old Scot was dropped from Citroen in 2003 and hasn't competed in a world rally car since. But Skoda have taken the opportunity to bring McRae and his former team mate Nicky Grist back to the sport in a Skoda Fabia
McRae said; "Rally GB is obviously very special to me, and I am looking forward to giving the fans something to cheer."

Following changes to the rules, this year, banning sophisticated active differentials and water injected engines, many teams are looking at starting next season with a brand new car.
Ford plan to debut their 2006 Focus WRC at the final rally of the season in Australia, in November in a bid to give the car some competitive mileage.
Subaru has ruled out the early debut, planning to focus on the development of the 2006 Impreza WRC until next years Monte Carlo Rally, after unveiling the machine at the Frankfurt Motor show in September.
Mitsubishi, meanwhile is trying to get a head start on the rest of the field by developing a 2005 spec Lancer to suit the rules.

Rallye Deutschland takes place 26-28 of August
