A motoring expert has offered advice on ways in which people can save money when it comes to their car and driving habits.
Steve Kitson from Kia motors said that the way we drive can have a massive impact on our car’s fuel consumption levels and implementing a few simple changes can be all it takes to save those precious pennies.
Not only that but economical driving can also help to save the environment.
Here are Steve’s top tips:
• Make sure you regularly service your car to ensure it is in tip top condition.
• Drive smoothly, accelerate gently and stick to the speed limit; it will keep fuel consumption low.
• Try to avoid stopping and starting as it increases the level of fuel consumption.
• Cut fuel wastage by avoiding leaving your car running unnecessarily before a journey and plan the shortest route beforehand.
• Avoid using air conditioning when travelling below 30 miles an hour – just open the window instead; you’ll be surprised how much fuel that can save.
