45 Years

45 Years has been winning over critics and audiences ever since it screened at the Berlin International Film Festival at the beginning of the year and is already being tipped as a potential Oscar contender.

The movie, which is based on the short story In Another Country by David Constantine, marks the return of Andrew Haigh to the director's chair for the first time since Weekend. The film also sees Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay team up to play married couple Kate and Geoff Mercer.

45 Years looks set to be one of August movies that's not to be missed and we have a trio of fantastic new clips for you to check out before the film is released next week:

Rampling and Courtenay are two of this country's finest actors and they have already picked up the Silver Bear for Best Actress and Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival for their fine performances.

Rampling and Courtenay are joined on the cast list by Dolly Wells, Geraldine James, Richard Cunningham, and David Sibley.

Follow the life of Kate Mercer (Rampling) during the five days leading up to her forty-fifth wedding anniversary. Party plans are going well, until a letter arrives for her husband (Courtenay) informing him that the body of his first love has been found frozen in the icy glaciers of the Swiss Alps.

As their anniversary celebrations grow closer, they delve further into their past, leaving their future in question.

The autumn season of Oscar movies is almost upon us and it is going to be kicked off in fine style by 45 Years we are going to have to wait and see whether the film and the central performances will be in the Oscar race.

45 Years is released 28th August.
