Awards Watch - Kate Winslet Lands Two Bafta Nods

Kate Winslet could be facing more award success as she landed two Best Actress nods when the Bafta nominations were announced this morning.
The actress picked up Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her role in Revolutionary Road and The Reader and has been recognised for both of those performances by Bafta, the actress won a Bafta for her role in Sense and Sensibility in 1995.
This is also the second time that the actress has been nominated twice in this category after being on the Best Actress shortlist for both her performance in The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Finding Neverland in 2005.
Alongside the British actress in the category is fellow Brit Kristen Scott Thomas, Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep however Sally Hawkins' performance in Happy Go Lucky, which won her a Golden Globe, has been overlooked.
There was also more success for Slumdog Millionaire after it's Best Motion Picture Drama success at the Golden Globes as it leads the nominations along with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Blockbuster The Dark Knight was just behind with nine nominations while Clint Eastwood's Changeling had eight, and Frost/Nixon with six.
Danny Boyle's rags to riches story, which has dominated award ceremonies of late, finds itself in both the Best Film and Outstanding British Film category, as well as a Best Director nod of Danny Boyle.
Best Actor goes to the form book with Globe winner Mickey Rourke and other Oscar favourite Sean Penn in there for their performances for The Wrestler and Milk. They are joined by Frank Langella, Brad Pitt and Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel.
But in the Best Supporting Actor British star Michael Sheen has been overlooked for his role as David Frost in political drama Frost/Nixon. Heath Ledger is the favourite to scoop yet another award for his role as the Joker and is joined by Robert Downey Jr, Brendan Gleeson and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
And in Best Supporting Actress Amy Adams, Tilda Swinton, Penelope Cruz, Freida Pinto and Marisa Tomei will all go head to head.
Joining Danny Boyle, who is favourite to scoop the award, in the Best Director category is Clint Eastwood for Changeling, David Fincher for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Ron Howard for Frost/Nixon, and Stephen Daldry for The Reader.
