Kate Winslet continued her march to Oscar success by winning Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Reader at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Despite causing controversy when it was first released The Reader has been the toast of the award circuit in recent weeks with Winslet being showered with gongs and nominations for her performance.
But the British actress kept her emotions under control as she accepted her award saying it was "an honour to be included in such a remarkable year and be acknowledged by my peers in this way.
"I really feel like everybody should be given a medal," she continued, admitting that she felt "a little bit lost for words."
There was further success for Slumdog Millionaire as it scooped the best ensemble cast prize, the guild's equivalent to a Best Picture gong.
And despite being in the same category as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Milk and Doubt which include the likes of Sean Penn, Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep in their cast lists it was the unknown stars of Slumdog that were triumphant.
Indian actor Anil Kapoor accepted the award dedicating it to the film's child stars: "They deserve this award. They set our performances," he said. "It's the children who've done it, not us."
