Charlie and Raymond Babbitt

Starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise 1988's Rain Man went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars as well as being one of the first movies to look at autistic savant.

Callous hustler Charlie Babbitt (Cruise) is busy working on his next deal when he receives word that his estranged father has died. After travelling back to Ohio from Los Angeles for the funeral, Charlie is miffed to find that although he will receive a vintage Buick from his father's estate, he isn't getting a cent of the three-million-dollar fortune.

Charlie discovers that the fortune left by his father is left to the caretakers of his institutionalised autistic brother, Raymond (Hoffman), a brother he didn't know he had.

Charlie kidnaps Raymond and heads cross-country in the Buick in an attempt to get a cut of the inheritance to pay off some of his failing deals.

However, during their adventure, Charlie not only learns how to deal with Raymond's many idiosyncrasies, but he also actually begins to care about his older brother and comes to realise that discovering a brother is more important than money.

The Corleone's

Gracing the screen over three movies the Corleone siblings, Connie, Fredo, Michael and Sonny are part of one of cinema's most notorious crime families.

Oldest son Sonny is the most violent of Vito's children and, as the oldest son, he is involved in many of his father's criminal operations.

Sonny eventually becomes a capo in his father's family, gaining a reputation as a ruthless killer. By the end of World War II, he has become his father's underboss and heir before he is killed by Don Emilio Barzini.

Played by Al Pacino Michael is the youngest son and initially wants nothing to do with the 'family business' but ascends to the head of the crime family when his father dies at the end of Part I.

Fredo is the weakest of the three brothers and is unable to retaliate when his father is shot in Part I, he is however the most obedient of Vito's sons.

Connie is the youngest child, and only daughter of Vito and Carmella Corleone and is married to Carlo Rizzi whom she is regularly abused by.

Some of cinema's other sibling great include Liesl, Fredrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta and Gretl Von Trapp from 1965's The Sound of Music. Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucy Pevensie from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Cecilia and Briony Tallis from 2007's Atonement.

Step Brothers is released 29th August
