Kidulthood was met well critically, deprived Ladbroke Grove/Latimer Road area of Inner West London next door to Notting Hill, depicting well the difference between the two estates.

Away from these movies Clarke began his career in the theatre the Laurence Olivier Award for "Most Promising Newcomer" for his performance in the play Where Do We Live at the Royal Court Theatre in 2003.

He made the next move into television with roles in Casualty and Metrosexuality before landing the role of Wyman Norris in the revival of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet in 2002.

However it is his role of Mickey Smith in the revival of sci-fi favourite Doctor Who that has made him a household name.

Appearing in 'Rose', the first episode of the new series in 2005, Mickey is the boyfriend of companion Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper.

He joins the crew of the TARDIS with tenth Doctor David Tennant and became the first black companion.

He left the series in the middle of series two but is set to return at the end of the current series.

Adulthood is released 20th June
