And Slumdog Millionaire has now risen to favourite in the race for Best Picture after winning all five awards that it was nominated for at Sunday's ceremony, however do bear in mind that Atonement scooped the Golden Globe picture last year only to lose out at the Oscars to No Country for Old Men.
But Slumdog Millionaire, which will probably bring Oscar glory for director Danny Boyle, has featured heavily, much like Happy Go Lucky, on the awards in recent weeks.
The Golden Globes didn't rock the boat by not giving the Best Supporting Actor gong to Heath Ledger for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight and now an Oscar nomination in the same category looks a certainty.
The Oscar nominations are announced 22nd January and the ceremony takes place on 22nd February.
