It's hard to believe that it is ten years since Emma Watson burst onto the big screen as Hermione Granger.

In that decade she has played a major part in the biggest movie franchise of all time, has become a British acting talent to watch as well as a style icon.

But she leaves Hermione, magic and Hogwarts behind her this week as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - part 2 brings the popular franchise to a close.

During the Potter years we have not seen Watson take on too many other acting roles - appearing in TV movie Ballet Shoes and lending her voice to animated feature The Tale of Despereaux.

So what lies ahead for the actress?

Well her studies have always been a huge part and she is set to return to university this year at Oxford, after spending some time at Brown's University in America.

But do not fear Watson fans we will be seeing her back on the big screen as she has already completed two post Potter projects.

She joins an all star cast of Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper and Eddie Redmayne for My Week With Marilyn.

The movie follows Colin Clark, played by Redmayne,  an employee of Sir Laurence Olivier's, documents the tense interaction between Olivier and Marilyn Monroe during production of The Prince and the Showgirl.

After that we will be seeing the actress in The Perks of Being A Wallflower in 2012 - but it is a project that is already in post production.

The movie is a big screen adaptation of the Stephen Chbosky novel, he has also worked on the screenplay. and brings together another impressive cast that includes Logan Lerman and Paul Rudd.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower tells the story of an introvert freshman named Charlie (Lerman) who is taken on the wings by his friends Sam (Watson) and Patrick, who welcome him to the world of sex, drugs and complicated relationships.

Whether Watson chooses to focus on her studies for the next couple of years she will find success on the big screen as she leaves the Potter franchise behind.
