Fright Night

Fright Night

We may be seeing vampire movies hitting the big screen left, right and centre but Fright Night is one that we all should be looking forward to.

A remake of the 1985 classic and this time around Craig Gillespie is in the director’s chair while Anton Yelchin leads an all star cast.

Colin Farrell takes on the role of vampire Jerry Dandride while former Doctor Who actor David Tennant plays vampire hunter, and the slightly eccentric looking, Peter Vincent.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Imogen Poots and Toni Collette are also on the cast list in what promises to be one of the best horror comedies of 2011.

Senior Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice.

After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighbourhood.

Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Fright Night is released 2nd September.
