Hollywood's Worst Blockbusters

This week sees another blockbuster, in the form of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which hopes to recreate the box office success of the already released Iron Man and the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

So blockbuster summer is in full swing with the likes of Kung Fu Panda, The Dark Knight and The Incredible Hulk still to be released making it one of the most highly anticipated summers, in terms of movies, for years.

But here at FemaleFirst we have looked back at some of cinema's worst blockbusters.

Battlefield Earth

This 2000 picture starred John Travolta and a future Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and was an adaptation of L Ron Hubbard's novel.

It is widely regarded as one of the worst films ever made when it was a critical and commercial disaster.

In the year 3000, there are no countries, no cities... Earth is a wasteland. And man is an endangered species.

A millennium ago, vicious Psychlo aliens swept down from the skies and wiped out Earth’s entire defence force in nine minutes.
