Dianna Agron may have been making a splash in TV goliath Glee but she steps into the big budget blockbuster this week with I Am Number Four.

The actress teams up with filmmaker D.J Caruso, the man behind Disturbia and Eagle Eye, and British actor Alex Pettyfer as she takes on the role of Sarah in the big screen adaptation.

The twenty four year old is a bit of an all-rounder as she also has producing, directing and screenwriting credits to her name.

The actress kicked off her career on the small screen with appearances in CSI: NY before going on to take small parts in Drake & Josh, Veronica Mars and Heroes.

She went on to land the role of Harper in It's A Mall World in 2007 - a comedy series which was directed Milo Ventimiglia.

But it wasn't long before movies came calling and TKO and Skid Marks were her first appearances on the big screen.

In 2009 she showed that she was more than just an acting talent when she wrote, directed and starred in shot A Fuchsia Elephant.

On the day before her eighteenth birthday, Charlotte Hill makes a decision to change. Not wanting to follow in the footsteps of her alcoholic mother, she enlists a sober partner named Michael to help guide her.

2010 was a busy year for the actress as she appeared in movie The Romantics with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin as well as the all singing all dancing Burlesque.

But it is for her role as Quinn Fabray in Glee that she is currently best known as the hit TV series has taken the world by story.

But this week she turns her hand back to movies with I Am Number Four, a big screen adaptation of the Pittacus Lore novel.

An extraordinary young man, John Smith, is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him.

Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri, John is always the new kid with no ties to his past.

In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events -- his first love, powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny.

I Am Number Four looks set to be part of a movie franchise that could see Agron's star really begin to rise.

I Am Number Four is released 23rd January.
