Having Julia Roberts as your auntie would spark the desire of anyone to follow in her very successful footsteps and young Emma Roberts is doing exactly that.
Saying that her father Eric Roberts is successful in his own right being an Academy Award nominated actor so it's safe to say that acting runs in her blood and she proved this when she made her big screen debut in 2001.
Aged just nine she joined Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the role of Kristina Jung, daughter of Depp's real-life cocaine smuggler George Jung.
Over the next couple of years there were a string of small roles for young actress including bigLove, a ten minute short, and Grand Champion.
She became a household name in 2004 when she landed the lead role of Addie Singer in Unfabulous, a Nickelodeon television series.
The series followed Addie who writes songs about her experiences at junior high school and the show soon became one of the most watched shows in America and earning Roberts a Teen Choice Award nomination and several Young Artist Award nominations.
With the demonstration of singing ability in the show, like so many, Roberts dabbled with the music industry releasing a debut album Unfabulous and More: Emma Roberts before returning to the big screen in Aquamarine.
But her big screen breakthrough came last years when she landed the role of fictional super-sleuth Nancy Drew, loosely based on the books.
Like so many of today's films Nancy Drew looked back at Nancy's teenage years focusing on her being a high school student as she discovers her love for sleuthing.
Despite being a popular series of novels Nancy Drew was not met well by the critics and went on to gross just over $30 million at the global box office.
But this week Roberts is back as spoilt brat Poppy Moore, who is shipped off to an English boarding school leaving her privileged LA lifestyle behind, in teen flick Wild Child.
Next for the young star is Hotel for Dogs in which four friends take in nine stray dogs and there are rumours of a Nancy Drew sequel in the pipeline.
Wild Child is on general release now.
