January Jones

January Jones

Ever since TV show Mad Men kicked off the career of actress January Jones her star has done nothing but rise with a whole host of movie roles.

She is back on the big screen this week with her new movie Justice, which sees her team up with Nicolas Cage and Guy Pearce.

So to celebrate the release of the movie we take a look at some of the acting roles that have helped get Jones to where she is today.

- Mad Men

Jones may have kicked off her career in the late nineties but it was the role of Betty Draper Francis in hit American series Mad Men that has really shot her to fame.

Jones has been with Mad Men since the start of the show and has appeared in fifty two episodes.

The series has been a hug critical hit making household names out of many of it's stars, most going onto bigger and better things.

- The Boat That Rocked

In 2009 she joined the all star cast of Richard Curtis' movie The Boat That Rocked - her first movie role since the success of Mad Men.

The film was a  period comedy about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960s and also starred Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy and Rhys Ifans.

Jones took on the role of Elenore in the movie who marries "Simple" Simon Stafford only for him that the reason that she married him was not so honourable.

The movie was a blast of sixties nostalgia that follows a group of DJ's who have banded together on a boat in the North Sea to bring the music that they love to the masses.

- Unknown

She teamed up with Liam Neeson earlier this year for director Jaume Collet-Serra's thriller Unknown.

A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one, (not even his wife), believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.

Jones played Neeson's wife Elizabeth Harris but as Martin starts to remember it seems that their marriage is not all it appears to be.

The movie put in a solid performance at the box office but it split the critics. femaleFirst enjoyed the movie but it just lacked that little bit of intensity.

- X-Men: First Class

This summer she stepped into the big action blockbuster for the first time as she took on the role of Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class.

She was joined by an all star cast that included James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Kevin Bacon while Matthew Vaughn was in the director's chair.

The movie was a box office hit and was one of the best movies that graced the big screen this summer.

Fingers crossed we will be seeing Jones return to the role in a possible sequel.

- Justice

This week she is back on the big screen as she teams up with Nicolas Cage and Guy Pearce in Justice.

Popular high school teacher Will Gerard (Cage) lives a life of content domesticity with his beautiful musician wife Laura (Jones). Until one night’s horrific events, turns their world upside down.

After Laura is violently attacked and left traumatised in hospital, Will is approached by a well-dressed stranger(Pearce) offering to dispense immediate justice to the attacker and save the couple from an emotionally traumatic trial.

Distraught, Will accepts the proposal but soon learns justice comes at a price.

Justice is released 18th November
