Rudd begged for second audition for How Do You Know

Actor Paul Rudd begged director James L Brooks for another audition for a role in his latest film How Do You Know, after messing up his lines the fist time.

The Role Models star was ill during his first audition and fluffed up his lines badly, so begged for a second opportunity.

He said: "I had a fever so I went over to Mr Brooks' apartment and read for it but I couldn't spell my name. So when it was over I asked if I could try it again in a week or two."

The decision paid off for Rudd, who landed the role as corporate executive George in the film. How Do You Know also stars Reece Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson.
