From Hepburn and Peck in Roman Holiday to Diaz and Kutcher in What Happens in Vegas, the holiday romance is always a popular formula in film. 

In The Tourist we see Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp meet against the beautiful backdrop of Venice. To celebrate its release on Blu-ray and DVD and out now, we take a look at some of the best holiday romances in film.

The Tourist (2010)

Elise (Angelina Jolie) sits next to an American tourist, Frank (Johnny Depp), on a train going to Venice.

She has chosen him as a decoy, making him believe that he is her lover who is wanted by police. Not only will they need to evade the police, but also the mobster whose money her lover stole.

Going the Distance (2010)

A romantic comedy revolving around a guy (Justin Long) and a girl (Drew Barrymore) who fall in love whilst Erin (Barrymore) is on work experience in New York.

They try to keep their love alive as they shuttle back and forth between New York and San Francisco to see one another.

What Happens In Vegas (2008)

Set in Sin City, the story revolves around two people (Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher) who discover they've gotten married following a night of debauchery. 

With one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other's quarter the unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money -- falling in love along the way.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Devastated Peter takes a Hawaii vacation in order to deal with his recent break-up from his TV star girlfriend, Sarah.

Little does he know Sarah's traveling to the same resort as her ex ... and she's bringing along her new boyfriend.

The Holiday (2006)

Two women (Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet) troubled with guy-problems swap homes in each other's countries, where they each meet a local guy (Jude Law and Jack Black) and fall in love.

Under the Tuscan Sun (2003)

Roman Holiday (1953)
