Daniel Craig

It might be the end of yet another disappointing British summer, but there's still one very good reason to get a bit hot under the collar...

To mark the end of summer, LOVEFiLM asked over 1,000 members to vote for their Top Torso in Film.  True to muscular form, Bond heartthrob Daniel Craig flexed his perfect pectorals to the top of the poll with over a third of the vote (34 per cent).

Muscling his way into second place with 21 per cent is Hollywood's latest golden boy and rumoured Jennifer Aniston squeeze, Gerard Butler, who first made us sit up and take note of his body - ahem, we mean acting - in the epic 300, in which he starred as King of the Spartans.

Languishing in third with 14 per cent of the vote is a man whose six pack seems to be fading as fast as his family size increases, but we defy anyone not to fancy Brad Pitt in Troy. Sigh...

However, Brad will be relieved to learn that as Troy he did manage to conquer Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat in the voting - the king of controversy's outing in THAT mankini earned him seven per cent of the vote. Euwww.

It's another Bond actor in fifth, who will be shaken and stirred to learn he was out-torsoed by Borat, but considering Sean Connery is now pushing 80 we're sure he'll appreciate fifth place for his role in Thunderball with six per cent.

The Beach was one of 2000's most popular releases and led to a huge increase in visitors to the Thai island where it was filmed.  We're sure this was for the scenery, rather than people hoping to catch a peek of hunky Leonardo DiCaprio, who beefs up well in sixth (five per cent)

Hank Azaria flexes his biceps into seventh after a bulky appearance in 2004's Along Came Polly.  Hunky Hank is better known as the not-so-hunky Chief Wiggum from The Simpsons.  Frankly, we were glad to learn his actual torso wasn't yellow...

In eighth, even after almost fifty years, Elvis Presley can still get pulses racing and he was at his buff best in Blue Hawaii, which achieved three per cent of the vote.

Our very own hairy lothario Russell Brand seduces Sarah Marshall and his way into ninth on the poll with two per cent, while the top ten is rounded off by original surfer dude Jan-Michael Vincent for his 1978 turn in Big Wednesday.

The Top Ten Torsos in Film are as follows:

1.   Daniel Craig (Casino Royale, 2006) - 34%
