This week sees the release of Season Four of hit television series Boston Legal and to celebrate it's release FemaleFirst has put together some of televisions best female lawyers.

Lorraine Weller - Boston Legal

Lorraine Weller, the alluring attorney from Emmy Award� winning series Boston Legal Season 4 is our top lady! Lorraine arrives on the scene in a court case against her ex-boyfriend and Crane, Poole and Schmidt attorney Alan Shaw.

Surrounded by mischief and mystery, Lorraine, played by Saffron Burrows soon re-kindles her relationship with Alan.

Shortly afterwards, Lorraine is hired as an associate at the same firm, where her colleagues see her as a straight laced fellow American at first, but later discover all is not what is seems!

Miranda Hobbes - Sex and the City

Sex and the City�s career minded and stylish lawyer Miranda Hobbes, played by Emmy Award� winner Cynthia Nixon comes in at number two.

A Harvard University law graduate from Philadelphia, Miranda sometimes has quite cynical views on relationships and men.

Best friend, confidante, and voice of reason to best friends Carrie, Charlotte and Samantha, Miranda is an intelligent and sassy high-flyer who is learning to juggle motherhood with an extremely demanding career, not to mention her on-off relationship with Steve Brady, the father of her beautiful baby.

Eccentric, humorous and dramatic, Ally McBeal comes in at number three. Played by Golden Globe� winner Calista Flockhart in the title role, Ally McBeal is a young lawyer working in the fictional Boston law firm Cage, Fish & Associates.

A woman who believes in love and is continually looking for her soul mate, Ally often hears songs in her head and suffers from hallucinations, mostly of a dancing baby...

Grace Van Owen - L.A. Law

L.A. Law�s savvy and compassionate Grace Van Owen, played by Golden Globe� winner Susan Dey comes in at number four.

Deputy D.A Grace Van Owen isn�t afraid of putting her colleagues in their place with her witty and sometimes sobering comments.

Who can forget when she told Michael Kuzak that he'd have to be a monkey before she'd be interested in him? Her softer side emerges when she is later wooed by Kozac himself, on the courthouse steps... wearing nothing but a monkey suit.

Patty Hewes - Damages

Known as a successful and hard-hitting high stakes litigator in Damages, Patty Hewes of Hewes Associates comes in at number nine.

Played by Emmy Award� winning Glenn Close, Patty is known as ruthless but brilliant, taking bright and sharp law school graduate Ellen Parsons under her wing, and grooming her to become the best. Successful and hard-hitting Patty enjoys playing mind games with consummate skill and is known for being silky, seductive, cold and ruthless - she can sweet-talk or threaten with equal dispatch.
