Sheridan Smith returns to the big screen this week with her new movie Tower Block
There has been an abundance of great British movies to enjoy this year and Tower Block looks set to join those ranks as James Nunn and Ronnie Thompson are in the director's chair.
The movie marks the feature length directorial debut for the pair but Nunn and Thompson are two of the most exciting new filmmakers around.
Writer James Moran has been making a name for himself in recent years with horror movies such as Severance and Cockneys vs Zombies and he has been on hand to pen the script.
To celebrate the release of the movie we have an exclusive clip for you to enjoy before it hits cinema screens on Friday:
Smith has been mixing her film work with TV and theatre of late and she is joined on the cast list by Jack O'Connell, Ralph Brown and Russell Tovey.
When Jimmy is brutally murdered by two hooded figures, the residents of the Serenity House tower block are witnesses to the killing but, fearing retribution, are too scared to give detectives any information and the police investigation is going nowhere.
One year later, someone has decided to take justice into their own hands. Picked off one by one, the tenants of the tower block are under threat from a mystery sniper who has set deadly traps throughout the building keeping them prisoners in their own homes.
Unsure of why they have been targeted, the group put their differences aside and undertake daring attempts to escape the building. But with every exit leading to another death, will they ever escape?
Tower Block is released 21st September
