Will Poulter in Son of Rambow

In celebration of the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of Wild Bill on July 23rd, we take a closer look at the lead talent in the film.

Will Poulter stars as Dean, one of two brothers who are forced to provide for themselves after their father is sent to prison and their mother abandons them.

When their deadbeat dad decides to make an appearance in their lives Dean and his younger brother must cope with their lives being turned upside down by the unexpected family reunion.

Poulter started his acting career studying at Harrodian School where he participated in various acting roles.

It was in 2007 when he landed his first major movie role in the film Son of Rambow. In the film Poulter plays a misbehaving boy who tries to make an amateur movie with his best friend.

The film helped Poulter receive the nomination for the Britain Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer.

And a promising newcomer he was…

It was one year later that he was selected to play the part of Eustace Scrubb in the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Once again, he received award nominations from the Saturn Awards, the Phoenix Critics Society and the London critics Circle commending his stellar performance.

Not only has Poulter been appearing on the big screen, he also made appearances on the Channel 4 program School of Comedy proving how versatile he can be.

Today, in his film Wild Bill, Poulter has been making the transition from being a child actor to more serious roles.

Wild Bill is a gritty comedy-drama that showcases how well Poulter’s skills have strengthened over time. It is no secret that Poulter will be around for quite some time making a name for himself.

Wild Bill is released on Blu-ray & DVD 23 July 2012, from Universal Pictures (UK)
