Kate Winslet is set to return to the big screen this April as she reunites with Alan Rickman for period drama A Little Chaos.

A Little Chaos

Winslet and Rickman teamed up famously back in 1995 for Ang Lee's adaptation of the Jane Austen novel Sense and Sensibility and now they will be sharing the big screen once more.

However, Rickman will not only be taking on the role of King Louis XIV, but he will be back in the director's chair for his second feature as a filmmaker; he made his debut back in 1998 with The Winter Guest.

A Little Chaos is a movie that has already won critics and audiences over on the festival circuit and is set to be one of the period dramas that is not to be missed this year. We have a terrific and exclusive clip to help whet your appetite even further:

Rickman has assembled a terrific cast for A Little Chaos, as he and Winslet are joined by Stanley Tucci, Matthias Schoenaerts, Jennifer Ehle, and Helen McCrory.

Madame Sabine De Barra (Winslet) is an unlikely candidate for landscape architect of the still-to-be-completed Palace of Versailles. She has little time for the classical, ordered designs of the man who hires her, the famous architect Le Nôtre (Schoenaerts).

However, as she works on her creation, she finds herself drawn to the enigmatic Le Nôtre and forced to negotiate the perilous rivalries and intricate etiquette of the court of King Louis XIV (Rickman).

But Sabine is made of strong stuff; her honesty and compassion help her to overcome both the challenges of her newfound popularity, and an unspeakable tragedy from her past, to win the favour of the Sun King and the heart of Le Nôtre.

It is always great to see Winslet back on the big screen and this is her first leading roles since Labor Day back in 2014. A Little Chaos is part of a very busy year for the Oscar winning actress and is one of her movies that you cannot miss this year.

A Little Chaos is released 17th April.
