Ashley Jensen was the darling of British television with roles in the likes of Extras that really help put her on the map.

Since then she has really seen her career take off with TV roles in the U.S. as well a major film opportunities.

This week she is back on the big screen as she stars in British film All Stars.

Jensen kicked off her acting career in 1990 when she appeared on our TV screens for the first time in City Lights.

Throughout the nineties she appeared in the likes of May to December, Roughnecks and City Central but it was Extras that really put her on the map.

The comedy series saw her team up with Ricky Gervais as she took on the role of Maggie Jacobs.

The series charted the lives of extras Andy Millman and Maggie Jacobs as they worked on a series of different sets.

Extras ran for two seasons and thirteen episodes and was one of the most popular shows on TV.

She picked up Comedy Awards for Best Newcomer and Comedy Actress as well as picking up Bafta and Emmy Award nominations for her work.

Since then she has really seen her career rocket as she has balanced her TV commitments to Ugly Betty as well a string of movies.

Nativity! kicked off a string of film successes as she teamed up with Martin Freeman for the festive comedy.

A trio of animation projects followed as she lent her voice to How To Train Your Dragon, Gnomeo & Juliet and Arthur Christmas - all of which enjoyed success at the box office.

The last time that we actually saw her on the big screen was last year when she took on the role of Fannie in Tanya Wexler's drama Hysteria.

But she is back this week with All Stars, a movie that marks the big screen debut of Ben Gregor.

The movie follows two youngsters who are determined to save their youth club from demolition. They plan to bring together a dance crew and raise money through a talent show.

Jensen is set to take on the role of youth club owner Gina in the movie as the kids persuade her that their plan stand some chance of success.

The movie sees Jensen team up with young acting talents Theo Stevenson and Akai Osei-Mansfield while the likes of Kimberley Walsh and Ashley Walters are also on the cast list.

Ashley Jensen is one of the most versatile actresses who can tackle a wide range of roles from TV to film and back again.

All Stars is released 3rd May.
