Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures

If you are looking for a bit of supernatural romance on the big screen this February then look no further than Beautiful Creatures.

The film is already being tipped as the movie to replace The Twilight Saga as it follows the love story between a human and a witch.

Beautiful Creatures is a big screen adaptation of the popular novel of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and it looks set to enjoy further success as a feature film.

We have a couple of new clips from the film to wet your appetite:

The movie marks the return of Richard LaGravenese to the director's chair for the first time since P.S. I Love You back in 2008 and this is only the third feature film of his directing career.

The cast is a mix of youth and experience as LaGravenese has cast up and coming stars as well as experienced actors.

Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert take on the central role of Ethan Wate and Lena Duchannes and they are set to see their stars rocket this year.

Englert enjoyed success with Ginger & Rosa last year while we are also going to be seeing Ehrenreich in Stoker.

They are joined by Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum and Emma Thompson to make this a very exciting cast list.

Small-town teen Ethan Wate (Ehrenreich) dreams of escaping his ordinary life until the day he meets Lena Duchannes (Englert). His attraction is intense: this is the girl he has been dreaming of...literally.

They have the same sense of humour. They have both lost their mothers. And unbeknownst to them, they are inextricably linked by supernatural events that took place long before they were born.

Even when Lena confesses to being a 'Caster,' a witch, and warns him that he could be hurt just by being with her, Ethan’s affections are unwavering.

But as Lena’s 16th birthday approaches, everything spins desperately out of control. Knowing the forces of Light and Dark will soon converge to claim her for good or evil, Lena fears for Ethan’s safety.

So she makes an incredible sacrifice: she erases their love from Ethan’s memory. But their connection is inescapable, and as Darkness closes in on Lena, she will have to choose between saving Ethan and holding on to everything else she cares about.

Beautiful Creatures is released 13th February
