Broken

Broken

Broken is a movie that has already been lighting up the festival circuit and now it is set to hit the big screen.

The movie is a coming of age story and is based on the novel by Daniel Clay.

Broken premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year and has already picked up Best British Independent Film at the The British Independent Film Awards 2012.

The movie is released on Friday and we have a couple of clips from the film to wet your appetite:

Broken marks the big screen directorial debut from Rufus Norris after forging a career as an actor and theatre director.

Norris has brought together a great British cast including Cillian Murphy, Tim Roth, Rory Kinnear and the super talented youngster Bill Milner.

Skunk is 11, diabetic and pretty cool. Rick is her sweet neighbour. Bob is her mean neighbour. Skunk’s world is about to change...

Shortly after witnessing a brutal beating, Skunk’s home, neighbourhood and school all become treacherous environments, where the happy certainties of childhood give way to injustice and danger; her innocence is rapidly worn away and a harsh world fills her future.

When Skunk finally seeks solace in an unspoken friendship with sweet, damaged Rick, she’s left with a choice - to stay in a life she was not promised, or to leave this broken place behind...

Broken is released 8th March.
