Demolition is one of the April movies that we are looking forward to the most as it marks the return of Jake Gyllenhaal to the big screen.

Demolition

Demolition

Gyllenhaal's performance in Demolition has already been winning over the critics and I can't wait to see him in action. The movie is his first since delivered a terrific performance in Everest last year.

Gyllenhaal is set to take on the central role of Davis Mitchell in the film and you can see him in action in this great new clip - check it out:

However, it is not just Gyllenhaal that we are excited about for Demolition as the movie marks the return of Jean-Marc Vallée to the director's chair.

The filmmaker is on a terrific run of great movies with the likes of Dallas Buyers Club and Wild under his belt in the last couple of years.

Vallée seems to really thrive with character driven drama and Demolition is promising to deliver more of the same - it looks like Vallée and Gyllenhaal are set to make an explosive filmmaking team.

Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper - two more great acting talents - are also on board while we will be introduced to Judah Lewis, who will play Watts' son.

Davis (Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from his father in law Phil (Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions.

Davis' letters catch the attention of customer service rep Karen (Watts) and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew.

April is set to be a terrific movie month with a whole host of great films on the horizon... and Demolition is set to be one that you really cannot afford to miss.

Demolition is released 29th April.
