The Lobster is a movie that has been enjoying some success on the festival circuit so far this year and it looks like the film is only going to gather momentum over the next few weeks.

The Lobster

The Lobster is set to play at the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the London Film Festival and is being tipped as being one of the autumn movies that's not to be missed.

The movie marks the return of Yorgos Lanthimos to the director's chair for the first time since Alps and this looks set to be the movie that really does put him on the filmmaker map.

There's still a few weeks to go until The Lobster hits the big screen and we have a couple of clips for you to take a look at and whet your appetite:

There are a whole host of movies that boast a great cast list and The Lobster is just one of them. Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz take on the central roles, while Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, John C. Reilly, Olivia Colman, and Ashley Jensen are also on board.

The Lobster is a love story set in the near future, when single people, according to the rules of The City, are arrested and transferred to The Hotel. There they are obliged to find a matching mate in 45 days.

If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods. A desperate Man escapes from The Hotel to The Woods where The Loners live, and he falls in love, although it is against The Loner's rules.

The Lobster competed for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize, and it is set to be one of the most talked about films on the festival circuit over the coming weeks.

The Lobster is released 16th October.
