Sicario

Sicario is a movie that is already whipping up a bit of a storm and is one of the autumn movies that I really cannot wait to see.

I was a huge fan of Prisoners when it was released back in 2013 and I am excited to see filmmaker Denis Villeneuve back in the director's chair - this will be the first time that he has teamed up with actress Emily Blunt.

Blunt really has well and truly mixed and matched her roles in recent years - last time we saw her she was tackling musical Into The Woods and now she is leading a gritty crime drama.

The brand new action packed trailer for the movie has just been released and we have it for you to take a look at. It really is the best trailer for the film yet:

Blunt will take on the role of idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer in Sicario, and will be joined on the cast list by Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro, and Jon Bernthal. It really is one of the most exciting cast lists of the autumn season of movies.

While Sicario marks the first time that Blunt has worked with Brolin, the movie sees her reunite with Del Toro for the first time since The Wolfman back in 2010.

In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent (Blunt) is enlisted by an elite government task force official (Brolin) to aid in the escalating war against drugs.

Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past (Del Toro), the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.

If you are a film fan, you are in for a treat this autumn as there are a whole host of unmissable movies coming our way. Sicario is a film that is already surrounded in Oscar whispers and is one that is not to be missed.

If Sicario is as tense a watch as Prisoners was, then we could be looking at the best crime/drama of the year.

Sicario is released 9th October.
