Dangerous Acts

Dangerous Acts

Dangerous Acts (Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus) by Madeleine Sackler is an up-close and personal account of one of the last remaining dictator states in the world.

Seen through the eyes of the dissident theatre group The Belarus Free Theatre, the film is made up of smuggled footage from hidden cameras and interviews with members of the group, highlighting how truly daring and brave their work is in the face of deep repression.

Dangerous Acts will open in the UK on 28 March, after its UK premiere as the opening film of the Human Rights Watch Festival on 20 March, with director Madeleine Sackler as special guest.

Comprised of smuggled footage and uncensored interviews, Dangerous Acts gives audiences a front row seat to a resistance movement as it unfolds both on the stage and in the streets.

As the members of the Free Theatre confront the choice of either repression at home or exile in the US and the UK, Dangerous Acts reconfirms the belief that the power of art and hope can indeed change the world.
