Iain De Caestecker

Iain De Caestecker is an actor who has enjoyed a very busy and very successful year, moving between TV and film.

De Caestecker is just the latest Scottish actor to be flying the flag in Hollywood as he has been landing roles in UK based films as well as American projects - that makes him one to watch out for over the next couple of years.

The actor is back on the big screen this week as he teams up with Alice Englert for British horror film In Fear.

The movie marks the feature film directorial debut of Jeremy Lovering in what will be the last big screen outing for De Caestecker this year.

De Caestecker has mixed and matched his roles this year with comedy Not Another Happy Ending and black comedy/drama Filth.

Filth saw the young actor team up with director Jon S. Baird as another of Irvine Welsh's novels were adapted for the big screen.

Filth has been one of De Caestecker's big successes of 2013 as the movie was a critical smash when it was released at the beginning of October.

The actor can currently be seen on the small screen after landing the role of Leo Fitz in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the first Marvel TV series to hit the small screen and it has been enjoying success in the U.S. as well as in the UK.

De Caestecker is joined on the cast list by Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet, in what is the biggest role of his career to date.

But De Caestecker will be back on the big screen in 2014 after landing a role in How To Catch A Monster.

The movie marks the directorial debut of actor Ryan Gosling, and is already one of the most talked about movies of next year.

The movie follows a single mother who is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.

Gosling has assembled a fine cast as De Caestecker is joined by Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Matt Smith and Eva Mendes are all set to star.

Iain De Caestecker is an actor whose career is well and truly on the rise at the moment as he juggles high profile TV projects with exciting movie roles.

With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and How To Catch A Monster under his belt he is set to make a splash in the U.S. as well as here in the UK.

In Fear is released 15th November.
