Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the most exciting actors around and he has already been winning over critics with his performance in upcoming film Demolition.

Demolition

Demolition is set to hit the big screen at the end of April but has already been whipping up a storm on the festival circuit - many critics have been calling for Gyllenhaal to pick up an Oscar nomination for his central performance.

The movie sees Jean-Marc Vallée return to the director's chair as he teams up with Gyllenhaal for the first time - it looks like it is going to be a terrific actor/director partnership.

A brand new clip for the film has been released and we have it for you to take a quick look at:

Vallée has brought us movies such as The Young Victoria and Dallas Buyers Club in recent years and this is his first feature film since the success of Wild at the beginning of 2015.

I don't know about you, but I am thrilled to see him back and Demolition looks set to be another wonderful character driven drama.

Gyllenhaal is set to take on the central role of Davis Mitchell in the film and is joined on the cast list by Naomi Watts, Chris Cooper and we will be introduced to the acting talents of Judah Lewis.

Davis (Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from his father in law Phil (Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions.

Davis' letters catch the attention of customer service rep Karen (Watts) and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew.

If you are looking for some great drama on the big screen this spring, look no further than Demolition as it is one of the April movies that I cannot wait to see.

Demolition is released 29th April.
