Jim: The James Foley Story

Jim: The James Foley Story premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year and told the story of combat journalist James Foley, who was captured by ISIS and killed in 2014.

The movie went on to win the coveted Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to be met with critical acclaim.

Jim: The James Foley Story marks the feature film directorial debut for Brian Oakes, who was a childhood friend of James.

With this film, Oakes tells the story of one man's courage under fire to bring the stories of the Syrian people West, and the huge price he paid for doing this.

The brand new trailer for the film has been released and we have it for you to take a look at:

On November 22nd 2012, Thanksgiving Day in America, photojournalist James 'Jim' Foley was kidnapped in Syria and held hostage for two years. His execution video in 2014 sent shockwaves around the globe and introduced the world to ISIS.

Brian Oakes tells Jim's haunting story through interviews with his family, friends, and fellow journalists, as well as in-depth testimony from fellow hostages who reveal incredible, never-before-released details of his captivity. Jim: The James Foley Story is an unforgettable and moving tribute.

This is a movie that not only tells James Foley's story, but it is a film that highlights the need for conflict journalists and the dangers that they face when reporting from war-torn areas.

We have already seen a whole host of terrific documentaries hit the big screen in 2016 - it has been another great year for this genre of film - but Jim: The James Foley Story is set to be one of the most powerful.

Jim: The James Foley Story is released 2nd September.
