Aaron Eckhart remained intense ''24 hours a day'' while filming 'World Invasion: Battle LA' because of the film's subject matter.

Aaron Eckhart was intense "24 hours a day" on the set of 'World Invasion: Battle LA'.

The 42-year-old actor - who stars alongside Michelle Rodriguez and Bridget Moynahan in the alien-invasion epic - believes the subject matter of the Jonathan Liebesman-directed project required him to always be on guard and act his character.

He said: "I'm an actor, I get into my character, you know? If the world is being taken over by an enemy force then that's an intense situation so I'm intense 24 hours a day. If I do a romantic comedy it's a different flavour!"

Discussing why he was so intense of the movie, Eckhart revealed it was Liebesman's request to make it "as real as you can get".

He told Collider.com: "Yeah it is an intense movie the reason why I did this movie is because the director wanted to make it as real as you can get. The only thing that is different is that we didn't shoot real bullets and no one got killed. It was a battle, every single day. That's the way I like to do movies."
