Hollywood's most talked about couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are expecting a baby, after months of speculation.

The long-awaited news broke when the sexy actress told a charity aid worker in Dominican Republic, where she is filming new movie ‘The Good Shepherd, "Yes, I'm pregnant." It will be the first biological child for Jolie, who is already mother to two adopted children, Maddox, four, from Cambodia and Ethiopian-born Zahara, one. Friends of Jolie say she is ecstatic to be expecting a baby with handsome Pitt, with one source telling America's People magazine: "This is a woman who values her relationships with her children more than anything. "Now she is creating a family in the context of an adult relationship." The stunning actress is said to be so excited about the prospect of having heartthrob Pitt's baby she has hired an artist to paint her throughout the pregnancy. The UN ambassador, who has reportedly already sat for two portraits, is also planning to make all her own baby clothes, because she doesn't want her unborn child to wear clothes made in sweatshops. A friend of the star said: "Angelina sees being pregnant as a gift and wants an artistic record of body as it changes. She wants framed pictures of every stage of the pregnancy. "She also doesn't want to buy any baby clothes made in sweatshops that abuse their workers, so she's making clothes herself from natural and organic fibres. For all her wild antics Angelina is really an earth mother, deep down."

Actor Pitt is also gearing up for his impending fatherhood by filing to adopt Maddox and Zahara, which fuelled rumours the couple will be married by the end of the year.

A lawyer said of the application: "Under American law, adoption is a profound and significant act. It normally doesn't take place unless there's already been a marriage."

Pitt has been seen playing father to Jolie's beautiful adopted children ever since the pair met on the set of movie 'Mr and Mrs Smith' over a year ago.

Within months, he was snapped helping Maddox ride a mini motorbike close to her British countryside home, out shopping with Jolie and her young family and joining her and the children on holiday.

In October, Maddox was spotted by an onlooker crying in "Where's my Daddy?" when Pitt was not around. The Hollywood hunk was said to be so devoted to the children he quit smoking after Jolie reportedly said she didn't like Pitt smoking around them.

Even though Pitt found the nicotine withdrawal difficult, devoted Jolie reportedly helped him succeed. A friend revealed at the time: "Angelina wraps him up in love and comfort and he just calms down." The loved up parents-to-be, who were seen earlier this week in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince on Friday (13.01.06) visiting a school, are rumoured to be so happy together they will tie the knot as soon as the baby is born.

In December, Pitt was spotted buying Cartier bands while shopping in California and sources close to the pair claimed they were planning a Buddhist-style wedding ceremony at the actor's Malibu mansion. A friend revealed: "They want to make it official as soon as possible. They feel they were made for each other."

However, for the time being, the pair are concentrating on planning on their baby's future. Last week, it was reported Pitt wanted to call the child William if it is a boy, following family tradition. The hunky actor was named William Bradley Pitt after his own father.

A friend of the family revealed: "Brad's parents, Bill and Jane, were worried the baby would be called something new-fangled. But Brad's an old-fashioned guy and wants to show his Pops how much he means to him."

Jolie has given it her seal of approval and feels an all-American name would complete the multi-national family she craves.

However, despite her willingness to join the Pitt family, Jolie's estranged father, actor Jon Voight, is worried he will never meet his grandchild and is begging to be accepted back into her life. The Oscar-winning star said: "Now she has announced she is pregnant with Brad's child, I would love to be included in this exciting moment.

"I think it's a magnificent thing to have a child, so my love is with her and Brad and her children too."

The 67-year-old star says he's happy Jolie is with heartthrob Pitt, and says he has won his approval. He explained: "I've always thought he was one of the good guys. He's a very talented fellow, but I also think he's a decent, good man, and I know he's already very loving to the other two kids.

"As a father, I'm happy that Angie has someone like that at her side. I give them my blessing and I wish them all the best."

The 'Midnight Cowboy' star added: "I'm a romantic and I always want everyone to find their perfect mate."

However, one person who may not be thrilled with Pitt's idyllic family set-up is ex wife, former 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston.

But friends of the blonde say, despite reports saying Aniston broke down in tears after hearing Pitt was to be a father, she is happy for the lovebirds.

A pal revealed: "She wasn't upset at all, in fact she couldn't help but smile when she heard. Right now Jen doesn't mind if Angelina is having triplets because she's happier than she's ever been."
