Ben Affleck is in negotiations to star in and direct 'Replay'.
The 'Town' actor is in discussions with Warner Bros. studios to work on an adaptation of the 1989 novel by Ken Grimwood, which tells the tale of a 43-year-old journalist who dies and wakes up as his 18-year-old self.
His time jump leads him to relive his life in a completely different way as he can still remember the memories of his older-self.
Jason Smilovic has scripted the adaptation, which has been in the running for 20 years.
It is not known what role 38-year-old Affleck will play in the movie, which will be produced by Lee Rich and Elaine Goldsmith Thomas.
Some final work is needed on the script is needed, Deadline.com reports.
Affleck has had a number of directing propositions aimed at him since the success of bank robbery drama 'The Town', which has gained $107.4 million worldwide.
However, he has yet to decide on any one movie to work on, with only an untitled Terrence Malick project on the cards.
