Brandon Routh has joined the cast of 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World'.

The 'Superman Returns' actor will play the part of Todd Ingram - a rocker with "vegan psychic powers" - in director Edgar Wright's upcoming comic book adaptation.

The film tells the story of Scott - played by 'Superbad' star Michael Cera - who falls in love with the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers - played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

But the love-struck hero soon finds out he must do battle with his love interest's seven evil exes in order to date her.

'Fantastic Four' star Chris Evans has also been announced to portray another of the jilted lovers - a pro-skateboarder-turned-movie star named Lucas Lee.

'Arrested Development' star Mae Whitman will play Roxy Richter - another ex who is also a female half-ninja, Brie Larson is set to portray Scott's ex-girlfriend Envy Adams, while Kieron Culkin has signed on as the hero's gay former roommate Wallace Wells.
