Brave

Brave has stormed to the top of the UK box office taking a whopping £8.2 million over the weekend.

The movie had already been released in Scotland but last week the rest of the UK could finally enjoy the film.

Brave is the latest movie from Disney-Pixar and sees Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson and Billy Connolly all lending their voices.

The Bourne Legacy was another new entry at number two as Jeremy Renner stepped into the franchise for the very first time.

The movie took £4.6 million in it's opening week and had to settle for second.

Ted's two week reign at the top of the box office came to an end as it slipped two places to number three.

But taking another £2 million the film has now broken the £20 million barrier here in the UK.

The Expendables was a third new entry in the top five as it opened at number four - coming two years after the first movie hit the big screen.

The Dark Knight was down three this week as number five but it has over taken The Dark Knight to become the most successful Batman movie at the UK box office.

Ek Tha Tiger was new at six while Diary of a Wimpy Kids: Dog Days was down three at seven.

Ice Age 4: Continental Drift was down two at eight but Step Up 4: Miami Heat was this week's biggest faller as it dropped six places to number nine.

The Wedding Video was the fifth new entry inside the top ten this week as the Brit comedy opened at number ten.
