Carla Bruni has filmed a cameo role in Woody Allen's new film 'Midnight in Paris', which features her holding a baguette and entering a supermarket.

French First Lady Carla Bruni has filmed a cameo role in Woody Allen's latest film.

The Italian born-beauty - who is married to French president Nicolas Sarkozy - filmed scenes alongside Owen Wilson yesterday (27.07.10) for 'Midnight in Paris' around the Pantheon in the French capital, and spent time between takes joking with the cast and crew.

Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well.

A source said: "Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well."

However, the director did seem to have issue with one part, and had to keep reshooting a particular scene.

The source told People.com: "They must have shot the same set up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket around 32 times."

Carla has previously revealed she couldn't pass by the opportunity to star in a Woody Allen film, despite having no experience as an actress.

She said: "I am not an actress at all... but I can't miss an opportunity like this one in my life.

"When I'm a grandmother, I'd like to be able to say I made a film with Woody Allen."

'Midnight in Paris' features an all-star cast including Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody, Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen, but currently has no planned release date.
