Charlotte Gainsbourg felt "masochistic" when filming 'Antichrist'.

The actress said the gruelling range of emotions she ran through while making the thriller - in particular scenes where her co-star Willem Dafoe's character strangled her - left her feeling confused.

She said: "I would ask him to be tough and I didn't breathe myself. I thought my vessels were going to pop and it scared me. But in a good way.
