Chris Pine has dropped some little hints as to what we can expect from the Star Trek sequel.
Filming has wrapped on the J.J. Abrams directed project which see Pine reprise the role of Captain Kirk - Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto are some of the other actors that are returning.
And the actor reveals that there will be some great injections of humour while the film will also be action packed and we will sees some unexpected character developments.
Speaking to Total Film the actor said: "There’s comedy, which I think J.J. does a great job of, but, like the first one, there’s some serious issues being dealt with. And I’d say the threat is even greater in this one.
"The force [the Enterprise crew] are met with is much more frightening. It’s relentlessly action-packed and in terms of character development it goes places you’d never expect.
"The arc is huge for all the characters. It’s a really big story - I can’t hype it enough!"
It was back in 2009 when the Star Trek franchise was given a re-boot and the movie went on to enjoy critical and commercial success.
This time around Benedict Cumberbatch is set to play the bad guy in this film but his role is yet to be revealed.
Star Trek 2 is released 17th May 2013.
