Christian Bale refuses to condemn his late The Dark Knight co-star Heath Ledger's hedonistic lifestyle.Bale is famed for his clean-cut image, while Ledger's partying and addiction to prescription drugs has been well documented since his death earlier this year (08) .But Bale refuses to criticise Ledger, insisting his exemplary acting skills outweigh any negative press.He says, "He was a nice guy and out of this world as an actor. We got on and I never disapproved of his lifestyle. It's not up to one person to pass judgement on another person that way".Ledger was found dead from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York apartment on 22 January (08).In other news Heath Ledger's father Kim and his family are "proud" of the late actor's performance in The Dark Knight - as the film "is everything we hoped it would be and more".Ledger's family flew to New York to attend the screening of the tragic actor's movie on Monday (14Jul08).In a statement released by the family, Ledger's father says, "The Dark Knight is everything we hoped it would be and more."Heath loved the experience of creating this character and working on the film. We are so proud of our boy".
Ledger was found dead from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York apartment on 22 January (08). He was 28 years old.
The Dark Knight hits movie theatres in the U.S. on 18 July (08).
