Christopher Nolan Confirms 'fantastic' Superman

The 'Dark Knight' director, who is overseeing work on the upcoming film but not believed to be directing on the set, admits the project is well on the way to starting up.

He told the LA Times newspaper: "It's very exciting; we have a fantastic story. And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will, we know the genre and how to get it done right.

"A lot of people have approached 'Superman' in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us that's what I know how to do. Each serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other."

Warner Bros need to hear a great story that makes sense.

Last month a source close to the film - which has not yet been cast - admitted there was still a lot to do before production could commence on the movie.

They said: "We know what we don't want to do. But we don't know what we want to do. We learned a lot from the last movie, and we want to get it right this time.

"Warner Bros need to hear a great story that makes sense."
